How to open a P2P dispute if the seller doesn't release the coins

A dispute is for when the parties can't agree: you paid but the coins aren't released, or the wrong amount arrived. While the dispute is open, the coins stay frozen.

How to open a dispute

  1. Open the deal: P2P → Deals. Open dispute becomes available once the buyer has marked the payment.
  2. Tap Open dispute.
  3. Choose a reason and briefly describe what happened: when and to which details you paid, and what the counterparty said.
  4. Tap Open dispute — the deal status changes to Under review.

Screenshots and files from the deal chat are attached to the dispute automatically — support sees the whole conversation. If you haven't sent the receipt yet, add it in the deal chat.

How a dispute ends

  • Resolved for the buyer — the coins go to the buyer.
  • Resolved for the seller — the coins return to the seller.
  • The dispute can be withdrawn — the deal returns to its previous state.

Before opening a dispute, try to settle it in the chat. If both sides agree to cancel, the seller can tap Request cancel and the buyer can tap Accept cancel.
