KYC verification API

Identity verification for your product: document, face and application data. Clean applications are approved instantly; borderline ones go to a person.

What we check

Seven checks on every application.

A document, not a selfie
A photo showing a selfie instead of a document is rejected when the application is submitted.
Document and MRZ reading
A neural network reads the document data and the machine-readable zone; the MRZ is parsed according to ICAO 9303.
Face liveness
The person turns their head on cue in front of the camera.
Face matches the document
The face from the camera is matched against the document photo.
Name matches the application
The full name from the application is matched against the document, including across different transliterations.
No duplicates
If the document, identity or face has already been seen on another account, the application goes to manual review.
Expiry date
The document's expiry date is checked. If it can't be determined, the application goes to manual review.

How the decision is made

All checks are clean
The application is approved automatically.
Something is doubtful
The application goes to manual review by a person, with a ready breakdown of every check.
Only a person rejects
The service never rejects applications based on check results: it approves clean ones and passes on borderline ones.

Available on request

KYC is available via API on request. Message support and we'll discuss your use case, volume and terms. In the Telegram bot, identity verification is only used for our own app.

Frequently asked questions

How does the KYC check work?

The service reads the document and its MRZ, runs a face liveness check, matches the face to the document photo and the application data to the document. Clean applications are approved automatically; borderline ones go to manual review.

How do I connect KYC?

Via API, on request. Message support and we'll discuss your use case and terms. In the Telegram bot, identity verification is only used for our own app.

Which documents can the system read?

It works best with documents that have a machine-readable zone (MRZ): passports and ID cards. Others may go to manual review.

Does the system reject applications automatically?

No. The service only auto-approves applications where every check is clean. Doubtful ones are passed to a person.
